Darren has been a regular member since 2008 (with a short interruption when his boat was not moored in Montrose Harbor). He has been sailing as crew out of Montrose Harbor since 1999. His primary boating-related pastime is racing sailboats. He has owned the T10 Kaze (USA 348) since 2006. He began his volunteerism at CCYC as the Race Chair for the T10 North American Championship in 2008 which was the first time that event came to CCYC. He was instrumental in convincing Chicago Harbors to allow a portable crane to launch traveling competitor boats from the seawall where the current travel lift launch pier is now located. His wife Kristina and daughter Abigail are also sailors and join Darren in racing their family boat and enjoying the club.
