This course is taught by US Maritime Academy‘s Captain Fred Swastek, a National Safety Council First Aid Instructor. Students who complete the course will receive a NSC first aid certification. Registration is required through Corinthian University Playyon signup and payment is made to USMA.

Skippers & Fleet Captains-
Come meet our 50 graduates that are excited to get out on the water this season! Our Crew School program is only the first step to igniting a passion and getting folks into sailing! Help us make sure we don’t leave anyone on the dock! Help build our community by taking new graduates out on the water for both cruising and racing. All are welcome! The offshore fleet will be sponsoring pizza & the bar will be open.

3 day event to certify Corinthian University Instructors for the 2024 season. Most course work will occur on the water and in the CU house boat. Use of the galley area for a class room is a backup.
The US Sailing Small Boat Level 1 Instructor Course is designed to provide sailing instructors with information on how to teach more safely, effectively, and creatively. The goal of the program is to produce highly qualified instructors, thereby reducing risk exposure for sailing programs. Topics covered in the course include: classroom and on-the-water teaching techniques, risk management, safety issues, lesson planning, creative activities, ethical concerns, and sports physiology and psychology.

Championship Series A consists of 7 racing days during the first half of the season from May 19 through July 14.
Please notify keycards@corinthian.org prior to attending so that your keycard can be programmed ahead of time.
The monthly meeting of Chicago Corinthian Yacht Club is called for in our bylaws and designed to provide transparency to the members on the deliberation of the club and to give members a public forum to express their opinions. Bylaws Section 5.01 states "Regular Meetings of the Club shall be held on the third Thursday of each month, or on such other date as may be directed by the Board, at the time and place designed by the Commodore and the Secretary. The presence of 30 Regular Members shall constitute a quorum at any meeting.
